Workplace Interior - Nottingham

Concepts Group was engaged by a long standing client following the signing of a new building lease. The client sought to reinvest in their premises by upgrading key areas including the WC facilities, canteen, reception, and open plan workspaces. The goal was to create a more modern, cohesive, and functional working environment aligned with the aesthetic and standards of their Italian headquarters. Based on the initial brief and reference imagery provided, Concepts Group collaborated closely with the client to develop design concepts and colour schemes that reflected the wider European brand identity.

The Challenge

Delivering a comprehensive refurbishment within an operational workplace presented several challenges. The works needed to be carefully phased to minimise disruption to staff, maintain safe access throughout the building, and ensure business continuity. This included coordinating upgrades across multiple areas such as three separate WC blocks, office spaces, staircases, and the canteen, while also accommodating temporary arrangements like a functioning reception area. Additionally, aligning the UK site’s look and feel with the client’s European standards required precise attention to detail in both design and specification.

The Solution

Concepts Group implemented a structured, multi-phase approach to deliver the refurbishment efficiently and safely. The project included the full replacement of canteen facilities, new flooring throughout all areas, and complete redecoration to modernise the space. Existing painted doors were upgraded to contemporary laminate door sets with new ironmongery, while electrical works enhanced lighting and power distribution. In the warehouse, partitioning was removed to facilitate the installation of a new compressor system. The WC areas underwent full refurbishment, including strip-out, installation of ceramic tiling, IPS panelling, vanity units, cubicles, and modern sanitaryware such as sensor taps. Throughout the project, careful planning ensured safe access for staff and minimal disruption, resulting in a cohesive and updated workplace environment.
