Canteen and Office - Derby

Concepts Group were commissioned by a long-standing client to design, supply, and install a new mezzanine floor within their expanding press shop facility. Following consultation and site surveys, the brief evolved into a full turnkey fit-out, including a canteen and breakout area, meeting room, and first floor offices. From concept to completion, we delivered a complete design and build solution tailored to the client’s needs.

The Challenge

Working within a 24-hour production facility required meticulous planning and coordination to ensure our activities ran seamlessly alongside the clients ongoing operations. Noise control, Health & Safety compliance, and maintaining uninterrupted workflow were our focus.

Our Contracts Manager, Josh Pegg, worked closely with the client to manage logistics and ensure safe, efficient progress. Dedicated work zones and clear communication kept operations running smoothly throughout construction.

The Solution

The build began with the mezzanine installation, followed by acoustic soundbloc partitions across both levels to reduce noise transfer. We then completed the fit-out with fire-rated doors, windows, and ceilings, along with full mechanical and electrical services, plumbing, ventilation, and fresh-air systems. High-quality finishes, including flooring and decorative detailing, gave the new spaces a clean look and feel.

Working collaboratively throughout, we incorporated several client additions such as a custom external sink with sensor taps and upgraded HVAC systems, were seamlessly integrated. Delivered in line with current Building Regulations and approved by independent inspection, the project concluded with a final walkthrough confirming our commitment to quality and client satisfaction.
